Ever get bored? With something, someone, life in general?
Ever wish that something would happen - anything big would occur to make life more interesting? (And then quickly take it back because hey, there are a lot of big things that aren't fun things.)
I do. Which is why I've come to the conclusion that I want to be a goldfish.
Apparently goldfish have a ten second memory. So even though they live in a tiny fish bowl and all that they have to do is swim around in circles, every time they swim a new lap, its like they're doing it for the first time.
"Oh, haven't seen that fake bridge before. How exciting!"
"Would you look at that! There's a bridge in my tank!"
"How funny. I wonder why there's a bridge underwater."
"Oh, haven't seen that fake bridge before. How exciting!"
You get the picture. Therefore, a goldfish would never be bored.
And just imagine how many calories you would burn swimming around and around so often. ;)
I know there's a reason I'm not of the scaly, gold, finned species. The main one probably being I really don't like to swim much anyway. And I know that I would much rather be 'bored' than have to deal with so many of the 'not-so-boring' problems in today's society.
But do you want to know the biggest, most important, detrimental reason I would never want to be a goldfish in my family?
My brother has owned five. He know owns none.
They did not die of old age.
Think I'll stick with being human!
