Yes, I survived the exam, and my maths book is once again where it should be. Tucked away in our storage cupboard collecting dust.
I guess I'm a little dramatic. After all, some people LOVE maths. Some people finish 12 years of it and then go to uni to learn even more about it.
Its kind of like peanuts. Some people will eat them with nearly everything, whereas others puff up at the sight of one and have trouble breathing.
I'm the latter.
Anyway, enough forbidden talk. The reason that I'm really writing this blog post is because I'm hoping to get some creative juices flowing - my creative writing course is asking for a short story.
"A short story?" you ask. "In a writing course?" Heh. :)
But the truth is I'm struggling a little. What do I write about? How on earth do I manage to stay within the word limit? (Word limits are my enemies.) What if my little baby story gets eaten alive by the big monster adult stories written by, (wait for it), actual adults!!
Again with the dramatics. But it is a little scary for me. Its one thing to have a high school teacher like your writing - its another to put your baby up against people who have been writing for decades longer than you have! So please, if you have an award winning story idea that you're willing to share and pretend was mine to begin with, don't hesitate to tell me. Or write the story for me. I don't mind keeping secrets. :)
On another hand, (a more successful hand) I had my first gig on Saturday night! Yes, it was in a local cafe with about 60 people, and I might have maybe known every single one of them, but still. It was a gig. And I didn't make people stick their fingers in their ears and run out the door pleading for mercy. My friend and I performed together and if I can just say, I don't think we sound half bad. So keep in touch for when we're famous and are selling our platinum album's world wide. I might just be able to give out discounts. :)
Anyway, that's my life at the moment. Basically the same. Get ready for repeats of those maths related posts next term.
Gracie :)
(For those of you who say that I need to get out more, you're probably right. But you don't have to actually say it to my face. Or over the internet. Since I never get out.) :)
^^ Sarcasm alert.
